Keep it Clean

You may have noticed that my page is changing. I am still fine tuning some things. It can be quite dizzying with so many pictures to look at and choose from. But it is finally quiet here and I had some real time to look at Ideas for my page. Hope you like them.
We cleaned out our filled to the hilt garage the other weekend and not surprisingly found that over 75% of the stuff wont fit back in, so it is time for a garage sale..sell online and give away. Of course most of the things in the garage are not mine. I have a knack for being the person to store things for you because I have the room, or so I thought. I don't know how it was all in there, but it was! So I have had to gather everyone together to find out who wants to keep what and WHY?! I am definitely not good at holding a garage sale. Or I should say I've never really had one of my own. In fact I really have no clue on how much something should cost at a garage sale. I have noticed that if I have had something to sell, the person buying suddenly becomes an expert on what ever it is I am selling and then the price I have drops below half of the already give away price I thought I had it at! I guess I should just be glad to have a clean garage and let it go to someone else's garage. Until one of us goes and buys it back again and it returns.

Getting ready for planting

I planted all my seeds for my herb and vegetable garden. I am big on organic gardening and plan very carefully. Sometimes the garden looks so good I hate to pick anything but I am always so happy once everything has sprouted up and is ready for picking. I have so many herbs I almost have no need to buy anything from the market.

Thanks Darren Rowse's Problogger

I would suggest that anyone wanting to start a blog of any kind personal or professional business Problogger is a great place to start. It is easy to read and started by some one just like me who had no experience when he began. As a first time blogger, I must admit I didn't think I would make it this far. I spent days reading for hours trying to understand what this was all about. Once I thought I got it, I would stumble on stuff. Then I had another 3 day stall just trying to figure out how to add something.
So I must say I am proud of myself for this site. With information from the http://problogger.com/ my knowledge is growing and fast. I have read almost all of the pages there are on Darren's site and It has helped me more than I thought possible. Thank You Darren for not holding any secrets and being so honest and explaining things so well even I was able to understand!

some like it Hot

Well let me start by saying yesterday (Friday) was ... different. Around 3:00p.m. we lost power due to a transformer blow out or something, leaving over 2500 people from my town and area with no electricity for about 9 hours. It was a beautiful day and we had great weather so no one was really too worried because we were outside and enjoying the day. Our next door neighbor was getting ready for a prom party in their backyard and the family across the street had about 15 kids drive off in their cars to go to the prom.
Then as an hour or so passed we realized we had better find candles and make sure we had drinks and what ever else we may need. Now losing the power isn't all too bad, but I live with a well and septic which means no flushing toilets and no water without a hand pump. Since our local gas station was also closed, we didn't want to chance going to the next town for gas in case they were without power also. We were not really affected, my son and my granddaughters and I were outside, It was a nice starry night. We built a nice fire in our fire pit, the kids had hot dogs and S'more's, I lite garden candles on a path from the back of the yard to the house and around the porch steps so no one would get hurt. ( we are on a couple of acre's )
But my daughter who can't go 20 minutes or more without coffee stayed in as she was putting her 22 month old son to bed, found her own way to make that cup of coffee!
When I came in the house for a pit stop I found her at the kitchen table. She had a deep bowl with candles in it and used one of my cool racks for baking to put over the bowl and had a small pot of water on it. I asked what she was doing and she told me "well I tried to make a cup of coffee hot enough to drink with this set up and it worked so I thought I would make myself enough hot water for more." And that she did ... my son and the kids all had hot chocolate with her hot water set up!!
Then around 12:30 a.m. the power was back on. I was surprised to hear my daughter say "I was enjoying our family camping out, All I need is Hot coffee and I'm good."
